Although I have a bachelor degree in food and service management, cooking was never one of my interest strong points. However, I since I came to the UK, I have to cook for myself because I chose self-catering accommodation in order to save money.
I have been in the UK for almost three weeks and I have only cooked once. That time I made a chicken tomato pasta which is the only dish I have practiced. Yesterday I had a second try on try/go at chicken curry rice. I bought most of my ingredients from Tesco in the city centre. The cooking was started in I started cooking at 05:30pm. First, I cut all the ingredients into 1~2cm cubic cubes, except the garlic. Garlic needed to must be cut into smaller pieces. Then I heated the pan and put garlic into the pan to be fried a little bit, and then I threw in all the remaining ingredients, and fried them for a while. Then I added 5 cups of water to boil them until these the ingredients became tender. Then throwing I added two pieces of curry cubic cubes into the pan, and stirring stirred as well as turning down the fire heat to steam them until the curry sauce became thick.
Although it took one and half hours to cook this dish, it was worth it as my friend and I both enjoyed this dish every much. I think I will try to cook next another new dish very soon as I have been fallen in love with cooking.
